Windy Fishing
Summary: It was a windy day today with an strong tide where we only had a few hours to fish in the morning. My friend and I got out there about 8AM and fished until the winds got too strong around 11AM. It was a a low tide and there was a lot of trout action in the deeper channel. We started off by catching 10-12 smaller sea trout off a 1/4 oz jig head and a slam shady paddle tail. Then we decided it was time to target some redfish or snook by the mangroves and docks. There was very limited action around the mangroves and docks with both the slam shady and live shrimp, other than one small mangrove snapper and a couple catfish. I missed one good fish by the dock piling that looked to be a decent sized snook. We ended the day in another deeper channel and caught a couple bigger trout both around 15-16 inches. It was a short day but always a fun day on the water. Hopefully next time, we can get a full day out there.
