Palma Sola Bay

Summary: I launched the kayak around 7AM this morning at Palma Sola Bay in Bradenton, FL for a quick fishing trip before the storms rolled in. The main focus was to fish along the docks. My plan was to fish under the causeway in the morning but the wind was blowing pretty hard this morning, which changed my plans a little bit. I did not have much success on lures this morning, the fish were not as active. I switched to live shrimp and began getting a little bit of action, but not a whole lot this morning. I caught 3 catfish all around 2lbs. I had a juvenile tarpon on, which shook out the hook right at the kayak on his last jump. This was a fun fight and pretty unexpected. Overall, it was a short fishing trip from 7AM-10AM which resulted in a few fish and good time on the water. Next weekend, Iā€™m planning a much longer trip to a new spot which I hope to get on some good fish.
